Gramophone «Friendship»

It is hard to disagree with the statement about the enormous influence that music has on human hearts. At all times it was music that helped to cheer up or relax, to find harmony in the soul and heart. It is not surprising that in the Middle Ages various mechanisms appeared capable of playing music - music boxes and boxes, and even "voiced" carriages. Over time, unruly scientists got to the invention of the gramophone, and soon the gramophone, clearly and independently reproduce the sound from the plates.

The first phonographs were produced by the French company "Pate". In 1907 an employee of this company Gillon Kemmler proposed an improvement in the gramophone. The invention which came to be known as the phonograph was small-sized and portable. The device did not require connection to the mains and was driven by a spring. One plant was enough to listen to one side of the plate.

For us the gramophone is an integral part of Soviet culture. People danced under it in the 1930s on the grounds in the parks, because its sound was loud enough (the volume was not regulated). "Rio - Rita", "Argentina", "Blue Scarf". Music helped to live and believe in the future, make plans.

The gramophone with the saying name “Friendship” is harmoniously inscribed in the exposition of the Museum of Local Lore, dedicated to the housing life of Polotsk of the distant 1930s. A small mouthpiece of the gramophone is built into the body and the device itself is arranged in the form of a briefcase which can be carried by the handle. A sliding compartment for storing gramophone needles is provided in the suitcase of the device. For many years this simple musical apparatus created a special warm atmosphere of a friendly company.
