“Budyonovka”

In December 1918, a new type of winter headdress was adopted in the resembling part of The Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, the armor of the epic Russian warriors, for which he received the usual name "hero". The development of the style of this headdress worked such famous Russian artists as V.M. Vasnetsov, B.M. Kustodiev and others.
Various models and modifications of the “Budyonovka” were used by parts of the Red Army, as well as by the Soviet military until the early 1940s. Finally, the wearing of the “Budyonovka” was abolished in July 1940. It was succeeded by a hat with ear-flaps, although in some places “Budyonov” continued to wear until 1944.
