Courses of Red commanders in Polotsk. November 20, 1920 - October 9, 1922

After the end of the Soviet-Polish war in November 1920 in Polotsk, 43 joint courses of command were opened for the training of commanders of infantry, cavalry and artillery. For their placement were allocated the premises of the former cadet corps. Since January 1921 the head of the courses was appointed Fabricius.

The courses included Red Army men who distinguished themselves in battles. In addition to the characteristics of the applicants required the possession of the basics of reading and writing. Cadets with a low general educational level first engaged in four-month preparatory courses, studying political teaching, the basics of general subjects, special military disciplines. The general term of training was 6-8 months. Five hundred people in the battalion of infantry engaged in the courses, three hundred each were in the cavalry and artillery divisions. There were dramatic, choral, musical circles, sports sections, library. In the summer, the cadets passed camps. Three graduations were held during the course.
