On January 29, 1910 Emperor Nicholas 2 approved the order of the solemn relocation of relics of the Monk Euphrosyne, Princess of Polotsk, from the Kiev Pechersk Lavra to the Polotsk Savior-Euphrosyneisky Convent. St. Euphrosynean Celebrations began in Kiev on April 19th. The relics of the Monk Euphrosyne were delivered to the Golovachev steamship, which followed 737 km along the Dnieper to Orsha. On the way the steamer made stops only in large towns such as Rechitsa, Mogilev, and others. Thereafter, believers carried the relics in their arms 201 km from Orsha to Polotsk. The procession arrived in Polotsk on May 20, where a huge number of people gathered. On May the relics of the Monk Euphrosyneus were placed in the Transfiguration Church in a silver reliquary made for the donations of believers. The Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich with sons, Grand Duchess Elizabeth Fedorovna, Queen of Greece Olga Konstantinovna, Metropolitan of Kiev and Galich Flavian and other high-ranking officials took part in the festivities.
