Born in Lepel region. From 1939 he studied at Vitebsk Pedagogical Institute, then worked as a teacher. During the war he organized an underground anti-fascist group, later became the commissar of the 5th squad of the Stalin Brigade, from 1943 — an instructor of the underground Komsomol raion committee. From 1944, he worked as a teacher of mathematics and as a head of the educational department of Lepel Pedagogical School, from 1956 held various positions in Lepel and Senno Raion Executive Committees. From 1962 to 1978 — director of F. Skaryna Pedagogical School in Polotsk. In 1985 he became the first chairman of the Veteran Organization in Polotsk.
Awarded two Orders of the Patriotic War, 2nd degree, two Badges of Honour, medals.
The title of Honorary Citizen of Polotsk was conferred in 1987.
