Naum Yakovlevich GALPEROVICH (1948 DOB)
Born in Polotsk. After graduating from high school he worked at Polotsk Fiberglass Plant, in 1967 — 1977 — in the Znamya Kommunizma (The Banner of Communism) newspaper in Polotsk. He graduated from the Journalism Faculty of the BSU, then from Vitebsk Pedagogical Institute. Since 1975 — member of the BSSR Union of Journalists. From the late 1970s he worked on the radio broadcasting of the Polymir Plant, in the Khimik newspaper in Novopolotsk, where his first poem was published. Since 1981 — own correspondent of the BSSR State Television and Radio Broadcasting Committee in Vitebsk Oblast. In 1997 he moved to Minsk, worked as a deputy editor-in-chief of the Yozhik (hedgehog) journal. From 1998 — deputy chairman of the Union of Belarusian Writers, since 2002 — editor-in-chief, deputy chief director, chief director of the directorate of foreign broadcasting of the Belarusian Radio. Author of more than 10 books.
He was awarded the badge For Merits to Polotsk.
The title of Honorary Citizen of Polotsk was conferred in 2014.
