Topographical plan "Stadtplan von Polozk"

During the period when the city was occupied by German troops, a topographical plan "Stadtplan von Polozk" was compiled. On June 1918, rivers, streets, and structures were built. In total, 34 streets and 10 side streets were marked on it. All names are written in Latin letters. It is interesting that the originator of the plan wrote down the names of the majority of the streets as they sounded in Russian: Wokszalnaja-Str., Nizchne-Pokrowskaja-Str., Werchne-Borisoglebskaja-Str. etc. But not without exclusions. The names of the streets of Alexandrovskaya, Vitebsk and Riga were given the ending “-er” (Alexander-Str., Witebsker-Str., Rigaer-Str.), The names of the streets of Nevelskoy and Lepel'skaya (Newel-Str., And Lepel-Str.) were changed. For some reasons, the names of the Kloster-Str. And the Stumpfe-Gasse lane were translated into German. This unique subject was transferred to the funds of the museum in 1973 by A.K. Gotovsky, a relative of Karp Fedotovich Gotovsky.
