Participation of the emplooyes of the Museum of Local Lore in the International Seminar "Memories and storage of information about the Holocaust and the Second World War in Central Eastern Europe in the virtual space"


In the period from the 12.10 to 13.10 at the International Educational Center named after Johannes Rau was held workshop "Memories and remembrance of the Holocaust and the Second World War in Central Eastern Europe in the virtual space" which was attended by a working group of young historians from Russia, Germany, Poland, Ukraine and Belarus formed in June 2018. An active member of this group was also a senior fellow at Polotsk Museum of Local Lore Sergey Kaminsky. The workshop in which was used “Design thinking” was devoted to an existing project in the sphere of preservation of historical memory in the virtual space, as well as the gradual development of new projects. This technique made it possible to design the future product of several elements such as target audience, social, modern trends and requirements. The result of the active work of small groups during the workshop was the development of the concept of multiple different content projects.

This meeting is a valuable experience for the participants of the autumn seminar as well as significant progress in the development of an international project on the preservation of historical memory.
