In peasant life a wide variety of dishes for storing and transporting various liquids differed. Among other products, its unusual shape was glyak (“Glek”, “Bunka”) - a pot with bulging sides, a short narrow neck and a flat bottom. The clay vessel with one handle, presented in the museum’s exposition, was used to store water, kvass, wine, vegetable oil, tar. The narrow neck with a diameter of not more than 5 cm was closed with a wooden stopper.

Glac also served as a preparation for decoctions and infusions of medicinal herbs which is why in the western regions of the Vitebsk region it was called “greenery”.
