Development of education in Polotsk. 1930s

In the 1930/31 school year, almost all school-age children and a significant part of adolescents who did not complete primary school were enrolled in primary education. The number of seven-year schools and the number of pupils in grades 5-7 have grown. Schools began to work on uniform curricula and plans, uniform textbooks were introduced. There were seven Belarusian, three Russian, two Jewish and one Polish schools.

By the early 1940s two evening schools, a nursing school, four secondary special educational institutions, a forest technical school, a school and pre-school pedagogical schools and a construction technical school worked in Polotsk. Among the famous Polotsk educators at that time were Deinis, Manis, Deynis, Aleksandrovich and others.
